The MorTrack mobile app is available for both Android and iOS devices. We keep the app updated at the same time for both OS’s (operating systems), so you can use whichever device you prefer and have on hand.
The Android version can be downloaded from the Google App Store here: MorTrack (Android app)
The iOS version can be downloaded from the Apple App Store here: MorTrack (iOS app)
If you are using an Apple device, we highly recommend using a device that is capable of running iOS 15 or newer for the best experience.
App Permissions
After you download the app and first begin to use it, the app will ask if it has permission to access certain functions of your device. Note that the exact wording of these permission options may vary depending on your device’s operating system version. You can always change the permissions you grant by going into the MorTrack app settings of your device.
The permissions it will ask for are:
-
Location shares your device’s geolocation data with your Dispatch team via the MorTrack mobile app. Note that you must also check out a vehicle for your location to be visible to your Dispatch team members.
- You will be prompted for Location permission when you first log into the mobile app.
- Select the option “Allow all the time” or “Yes, always allow”. Depending on your device's OS, you may not have the option for "Yes, always allow" initially. If so, another pop-up may appear and ask you to "Update Settings". This will take you to your device Settings, where the "Allow all the time" or "Yes, always allow" option will be available.
- On Android, you may also have the option for “Precise” or “Approximate” tracking. For the most accurate results, choose “Precise”.
- The MorTrack mobile app only retrieves your location data while you are logged into the app. If you log out, we will not receive this data, even if “Allow all the time” is chosen.

Notifications allow the app to send push notifications to your device. For dispatchers, notifications will let you know when there is a new case pending assignment. For removal techs, these notifications will be sent out when you are assigned to a case.
- You will be prompted for Notification permission when you first open the app.
- We strongly recommend allowing notifications.
- If notifications are not enabled, you will not be notified of new cases and must manually check the Assigned Cases or Dispatch screens of the app.
-
Camera is used for scanning QR codes and taking photos with your device’s camera. Scanning QR codes is used for logging in with a MorTrack ID badge and for attaching ID bands to cases. You can also use your camera to take photos of documents or personal effects, and then attach them to the case.
- You will be prompted for Camera permission when you first try to log in with an ID badge or after selecting to take a picture and upload it to the case.
- We recommend choosing “Allow while using the app” or a similar option.
- If the permission is disabled, you will not be able to scan a login badge, ID bands, or take photos for the case.
-
Photos and Videos are used for uploading files that are already saved on your device to a case in the MorTrack mobile app. For example, if you have a PDF or photo of a death certificate on your device, this permission is required in order to select that file and upload it to a case.
- You will be prompted for Photos and Videos permission when you first try to upload a photo or file, such as while adding personal effects to a case.
- If the permission is disabled, you will not be able to attach files saved on your device to cases in the app.
- The app does not allow uploading of video files.
