ID wristbands are plastic bands with QR codes on them that can be permanently linked to a MorTrack case. Linking an ID band means if a decedent is ever separated from other identifying documents or information, scanning the band in MorTrack can pull up their name and case data.
If you are pre-printing Decedent ID stickers using a label maker, these same steps will represent how you can attach those to a case.
There are two common places where you can attach a MorTrack ID wristband to a case: on the Dispatch page and in the removal process of the mobile app.
- On the Dispatch page, you can add a wristband by selecting a case, then clicking on the Attach Tag button. You can then either type in the wristband’s 7-character code (i.e. E8A45LX), then hit Enter, or, if you have a QR code scanner connected to your computer, you can use that to scan the QR code.
- On Step 4 of the MorTrack mobile app’s removal process, Verify ID, there is a button for Attach Decedent Tag. This button will open your device’s camera, and can be used to scan the QR code of an ID wristband.
