A Manually Entered Case, or MEC, is a case entered into MorTrack for a request that has already been delivered or completed. For example, if a dispatcher needs to add a case to MorTrack but the case was delivered the day before, they can create it as an MEC, so they can manually enter the proper pick-up and delivery times.
If you choose to use MEC, please keep the following in mind:
- Manually entered cases will only have 4 timestamps: Created, Reviewed, In Custody, and Delivered.
- The case will immediately be marked as Delivered. The steps for assigning it to a driver, verifying IDs, collecting personal effects, and so forth, will be skipped.
- The timestamps for In Custody and Delivered will use the times and dates entered by the dispatcher who created the case.
- On the Dispatch page, the In Custody and Delivered timestamps will be marked as MEC to indicate the case’s information was manually entered.
To enable MEC for your Dispatch users, Admin users can follow these steps:
- On the MorTrack sidebar menu, click on Administration, then click on Settings.
- From the Settings menu, go to the Manually Enter Case section.
- Click on the toggle for Manually Enter Case.
Dispatchers can create Manually Entered Cases like so:
- On the Dispatch page, click on the Manually Enter Case button.
- Fill in the case information as normal (including any required information, such as the Representing entity, name of the decedent, what the pick-up address and delivery address were, etc.).
- Under the Place of Removal section, enter the Removal Date and Removal Time. This will be the date and time the decedent or asset was picked up and will be used as the case’s In Custody timestamp.
- Under the Destination section, enter the Delivery Date and Delivery Time. This will be the date and time the decedent or asset was delivered and will be used as the case’s Delivered timestamp.
- After entering all required information, click on Save to proceed. The case will be created and immediately marked as Delivered.
